Review of Cloth Addiction Microfiber Cloth for Touchscreen Devices

December 20, 2010 by · 21 Comments

Touchscreen devices are everywhere these days. I even discovered a poster-sized touch screen at a nearby bus shelter. With all this touching going on, screens pick up their share of fingerprints, oil and dirt. To bring touchscreens back to their smudge-free shine,  I picked up two Cloth Addiction microfiber cloths. One is a tablet-friendly 8-3/4 inches by 12 inches of silky soft microfiber (65%polyester/35% nylon). The second cloth is more portable at 7 x 7 inches (75% polyester and 25% nylon). Both have a similar silky soft feel, thanks to their 0.065 denier fibers (twice as thin as competing microfiber cloths according to the manufacturer). Available online at

I put them to work right away, cleaning my blackberry, grabbed a nearby iPad, and even went to work on my laptop and sunglasses. The cloths both have that important ‘single swipe’ cleaning ability to remove fingerprints and oil from the screen. A quick circular rubdown and the screens sparkle again. Easy to get into the nooks and crannies with the very fine drape of the cloth, especially useful for sunglasses as well as mobile devices. They did a good job of removing incidental dust as well. Washes easily and dries quickly – made one damp and used it to quickly get some splatter off of my desktop screen.

The verdict? Two soft cloths, single-swipe cleaning. If you’re in the market for a good microfiber cloth and are serious about taking care of your touchscreen, Cloth Addiction deserves a serious look.

As for cleaning the giant bus shelter touchscreens? Well, maybe Cloth Addiction will come out a bath towel-sized version.
