iPhone could you come to the front of the line please?

I never wrote a review for 1.0, but I must voice my opinions about 2.0, slated for release in June of 2008. I switched from a Blackberry 8830 to the iPhone a few months ago. I have to say that I have been extremely happy about the iPhone overall. The one “crippling” thing has been the lack of push email, calendering and contacts directly from Microsoft Exchange. Yesterday the boys and girls at Cupertino announced the new iPhone 2.0 BETA which includes:

  • Push email
  • Push contacts
  • Push calendar
  • Global Address List
  • Certificates and Identities
  • WPA2/802.1x
  • Enforced security policies
  • More VPN protocols
  • Device configuration
  • Remote wipe

I can see RIM and Palm shaking in their seats. The user interface on the iPhone is phenomenal and the additional Enterprise features are going to seriously increase adoption rates across the largest market: enterprise customers. People are already dropping blackberrys and treos for the iPhone. I know some of you may still be screaming about copy & paste, trust me: you wont miss it. Check out the full news article at apple.com and go get an iPhone!
